Classic Vintage. Classy New. Put them together. That's Maud Boutique.

I've loved and collected fine vintage clothing for years, always with the dream of someday opening a shop just like this! Finally, I have a beautiful space to showcase my collection, as well as fantastic new lines you won't find anywhere else around here. I'd love to help you put together vintage and new pieces for a look that defies trends that will turn heads!

why we choose
these brands

I care about the people who make my things.

I like to know who is making the pieces I carry, and how they make it. I prefer small, independent labels because I can build a personal relationship with them, just as I like to do with my customers. I like to buy locally as much as possible. It's nice to support what we have here, in Omaha, in the Midwest.

I'm excited about classy, chic labels I've discovered elsewhere in the United States, too. And when I fall in love with things made elsewhere in the world, I need to know that they were made without unfairly exploiting people or natural resources.

In honor of 33rd Friday, Maud's vintage and new pieces (except consignment) are 33% off!
So even if it's rainy, you won't want to miss 33rd Friday! (Marrakech is offering the same deal!)

Since Maud is a central stop on the Jaunt, consider having lunch at Marrakech (wonderful cooking and excellent service) just across 33rd from Maud. Or there's California Taco half a block north.

You don't need a Passport to go to Marrekech, but if yours shows you've been to Maud Boutique, Mousa will treat you especially well. (You can even bring in your own bottle of wine, maybe a chilled white from Wohlners or Brix at Midtown Crossing.)

I've been having fun finding summer hats and dresses. The company, Inez Gill made wonderful headpieces. Beautiful Fascinators and large flowers to wear for weddings or other special occasions.
I'm also excited about dresses from Bernie Dexter. Lovely vintage inspired dresses.
Inez Gill company just relocated from Omaha to Chicago, I wish her well. Bernie Dexter dresses are made domestically as well.

the history
of maud

Maud Amelia Josephine Johnson was born in Red Oak, Iowa, in 1901 and died there in 1972. Her parents, Nels and Ida Johnson (Yahn-sen, to them) came to Red Oak from Sweden. To me, she was Grandma Larson.

I spent a lot of time as a little girl at Grandma and Grandpa Larson’s house in Red Oak. I played for hours on end in my grandma’s walk-in closet, imagining the possibilities of the dresses, skirts, hats and purses. Across the small room was the bureau where she kept her jewelry, handkerchiefs and gloves. The array of colors and styles enchanted me. So many joyful choices: That little room was dress-up heaven! It was no wonder that Grandma Larson, when she was going out or having visitors, seemed so beautifully “put together."
