why we choose
I care about the people who make my things.
I like to know who is making the pieces I carry, and how they make it. I prefer small, independent labels because I can build a personal relationship with them, just as I like to do with my customers. I like to buy locally as much as possible. It's nice to support what we have here, in Omaha, in the Midwest.
I'm excited about classy, chic labels I've discovered elsewhere in the United States, too. And when I fall in love with things made elsewhere in the world, I need to know that they were made without unfairly exploiting people or natural resources.

Thanks to all who took part in the Vintage Jaunt. It was a fun day. Thanks especially to Wallflower Collective for putting it together. From 10th Street to Benson, this is one cool city!

Since Maud is a central stop on the Jaunt, consider having lunch at Marrakech (wonderful cooking and excellent service) just across 33rd from Maud. Or there's California Taco half a block north.

You don't need a Passport to go to Marrekech, but if yours shows you've been to Maud Boutique, Mousa will treat you especially well. (You can even bring in your own bottle of wine, maybe a chilled white from Wohlners or Brix at Midtown Crossing.)

I've been having fun finding summer hats and dresses. The company, Inez Gill made wonderful headpieces. Beautiful Fascinators and large flowers to wear for weddings or other special occasions.
I'm also excited about dresses from Bernie Dexter. Lovely vintage inspired dresses.
Inez Gill company just relocated from Omaha to Chicago, I wish her well. Bernie Dexter dresses are made domestically as well.
